Republican Party of Florida and the RNC Secure A Major Court Victory Defending Voter Verification Safeguards

The Republican Party of Florida, alongside the Republican National Committee, secured a major election integrity victory after a federal court threw out a Democrat-led scheme to block Florida’s commonsense voter verification rules.

“Making sure people are who they say they are when they register to vote is about as commonsense as it gets,” said Republican Party of Florida Chairman Evan Power. “Left-wing activists tried to tear down a basic safeguard that helps keep Florida’s elections secure, and they could not point to a single person who was unable to register because of it. The Republican Party of Florida intervened to stop that attack, and we will keep defending the laws that protect accurate voter rolls and ensure only eligible citizens vote in our elections.”

On September 29, a federal court in Florida dismissed a lawsuit brought by Florida Rising Together that sought to dismantle the state’s voter verification law.

Democrats and their allies tried to block Florida’s requirement that voters verify their identity when information on a voter registration application does not match government records.

The court threw out the case after finding the activists behind the lawsuit could not identify a single person who was unable to register because of the law.

This is the latest failed attack from Democrat party on election integrity in Florida. The Republican Party of Florida will continue to defend the state’s verification rules, the SAVE Act, and other commonsense safeguards that ensure only eligible citizens participate in Florida elections.
